Wine Tasting at Vino Zona
We just completed our club's first visit to Cottonwood Arizona in a long time. Cottonwood is located just off of Interstate 17 and less than 2 hours north of us, about 100 miles away. Our SCCC group captained by Ben and Sue Dyer drove the back way around into Prescott before heading to Cottonwood which added a few additional miles and took us a little longer. This route gave us a chance to really enjoy driving a corvette and was a great choice. I think that most of you will agree that the back road going up the hill to Yarnell and beyond to Prescott was designed specifically with Corvettes in mind. Talking with all the drivers afterwards at one of our stops, we all had a lot of fun as we drove into and out of numerous curves going up and down the hills on the way to Prescott. I'm not so sure that some of the passengers enjoyed it nearly as much as the drivers. Ben and Sue had planned everything for us in advance, so it was just a matter of us all just following them as we had nothing to worry about. All in all, it was a great event full of many memories and is certainly something that we would like to do again... Thanks to Ben and Sue for organizing all of this starting with the ride over, the hotel (which was absolutely fantastic), the group reservations at the different restaurants, the fabulous food, the wine tasting, and all the laughter and happy times we got to share with our friends. Also, I'd like to thank you for your timing as I know you planned this month in advance and the weather couldn't have been better. Thank you again Ben and Sue as this turned out to be truly a great overnight trip, well planned and we all just can't thank you enough!!!!Jim
